Received my order yesterday, very happy with rapid shipping. I've been practicing with it today and I'm extremely satisfied. I had to fill the weapon side with bubble wrap to keep the cylinder edge of my S&W 60 (bobbed hammer) .38 above the edge of the holster otherwise it would snag. The bubble wrap works great. I also installed bubble wrap in the other pouch to keep my speed loader above the edge.

Subject: Still satisfied! and a tip for bikers
Date: Fri, 20 Jan 2012 04:57:23 +0000 (GMT)

Hello! I was just on your website considering a purchase of a second SmartCarry and I thought I would drop you a line. I have been carrying my Taurus PT709 Slim in my SmartCarry for over a year now 12 hours a day - every day. It is BY FAR the best holster I have ever used... and that's saying something because I've spent almost twice my guns worth on holsters. I just purchased a smaller 380 (Taurus TCP) and I'm considering purchasing the smaller SmartCarry for that one.

I wanted to add to something I read on the FAQ page about biking with the SmartCarry. I am a road biker (ya know, the super light skinny bikes) and I put in around 100 miles a week. I have found that if I pull the SmartCarry up on my body to where it hugs right at the bottom of my rib-cage and then rotate my gun to about 4 o'clock it is VERY comfortable for long rides. Yes, it's under a shirt and draw is a little slower, but it's there if I need it. Traditional road biking shorts are very tight spandex and impossible to conceal a firearm in so this is a GREAT option that you might want to mention. I know the main reason I started carrying is so that I would be protected while biking and this is a tip that would have won me over.

Once again, thank you so much.

These holsters are by far, in my opinion the best way to deep conceal carry. I bought mine last year for the sole purpose of summertime carry because I wear cargo shorts in the Texas heat. I use an alternate IWB for winter time. The construction is great and very comfertable even with a Tauraus PT145 .45 cal and extra mag wich is a double stack 10rnds +1. I am so happy with this holster I orderd one for my father in law which I'm sure he'll enjoy. No other holster comes close for deep concealment and don't accept any knockoffs!

Thanks SmartCarry for a great poduct!

Wow, my order arrived in 2 days and boy was I surprised. I have been carrying concealed and open carry for over 40 years and I am a rather big fellow over 6' and 280 lbs and a rather large girth above my waist. It has always been very difficult to carry concealed because of my size. When I ordered my smart carry my wife said it would be one more of many holsters I have tried and not liked and will end up in the drawer with the rest of them. Boy, was she wrong, I have been wearing it with my S&W model 60-14, 2 inch for two days now and I have never been more comfortable in all my years carrying concealed and I wish I had ordered one before now. I can walk, stand, sit and rise without any issues or printing. I can't wait for summer time so I can now wear shorts and a T-shirt and conceal carry. I am retired law enforcement (corrections 30 years) and I will certainly be telling all my friends about your product. Thank you so much for making such a quality product at a reasonable price. Feel free to use any or all of my statement as a testimonial, including my name, about your wonderful product.

Thank you again,

Hi Andrew!

Thanks so much for the email and for listening up in CT! ( ya know I graduated High School in Simsbury) I've copied in Charlie at Smartcarry. These are fantastic holsters and like everything else on the show, the only way it makes it on air is if I would personally use the product...we won't accept advertising from products or companies that we wouldn't use....and I've worn out a couple of SC Holsters as Charlie can attest! Thanks again for tuning in and listen this Sunday as Rob Pincus and I bring AAR live to the nation from the WORL studios in Orlando...I'll be reading this on air! (I'll leave your last name out)

Thanks again and never leave your cave without your club!

Hi!

I just received my new Smart Carry holster yesterday (Saturday). I strapped it on this morning and spent all day (it's 5:00 and I'm still wearing it) with it and an unloaded Glock G26.

I wore it in my wheelchair and 3 hours watching the football game in my recliner. I took my pistol in and out a BUNCH of times and all I found was that I need to keep practising to get more smooth with extracting the gun from the Smart Carry.

I used the bathroom 3-4 times, again, without incident.

This being my first use, I'd give it a thumbs up as it can only get better with use and practice.

Thanks for getting it to me so quickly and for a quality product.

Hello,

Just dropping a note to let you know that my first impressions of the SmartCarry holster from the web were very positive. When I got it and initially tried it on, however, my gun (a Walther P99 .40 cal, not the smallest gun for concealed carry) printed badly on the butt of the handle at the top of my right pocket. I realized my pants were a bit tight (they were several years old), so I bought a couple pairs with 2 more inches to the waistband. They're a bit more baggy than I like, but they do hide the gun much better. I was still a ball of nerves the first time going out in public wearing the gun with this holster, though. Nobody was the wiser.

That was 9 weeks ago, right after I ordered it. Today I started really getting a chance to play with it. (The 9 weeks since I bought it, I have been very busy with work and unable to even find time for target shooting at the range. I run my Internet-based business from home, so no need to concealed carry most of the time.)

I finally got to fiddling with it again the day before yesterday, and discovered that it works really well if I keep it quite low, with the band a couple inches below the top of my hips. It works even better if I position the gun so it's half resting on my left thigh when I sit down, as this puts the butt of the handle where a bulge would suggest fairly well concealed arousal, if anything. Looking straight down, I see some bulge, but so far I can only tell there's actually a gun there because I put just it there! Nobody would ever guess it otherwise. I then took it to another level and put on a pair of my old shorts, with the old smaller waist size. Wearing the holster at this level on my hips, and positioned to the left this way, even in these shorts (which are neither baggy nor tight) hide the weapon and an extra 12 round magazine perfectly. I was very pleased, and more than slightly surprised.

The next thing I did for a test was sleep overnight with it on. In fact I didn't just sleep wearing it, I slept in an intentionally less comfortable place than usual; which is to say, I slept on my couch instead of in my bed. I normally sleep on my stomach, and sometimes on my side. This becomes difficult on a couch. To my amazement, it was still completely comfortable regardless of whether I was on my back, stomach or side.

Then today I invited a friend over to my house, who is also a gun owner. She needed to drop off some things and I wanted to see if she would notice me wearing my weapon concealed. She had no clue whatsoever that I was carrying, even as we discussed concealed carry and she joked about having me shoot her because her boyfriend was aggravating her so much. I was tempted to show her that I was carrying concealed, but decided not to. She left never knowing a thing, which left me delighted, because what she does for a living requires her to be extremely observant, and she definitely takes this quality home with her.

The only problem I have had so far is that the holster appears to be too long for carry this low in some of my old jeans, which are getting rather small for me now. They're practically skin tight, and the shortish distance to the bottom of the crotch in them prevents me from having the holster as low as I need to have it, which made the butt of the handle print like crazy in my right pocket if I had the holster positioned in the middle, as the directions suggest, and as I mentioned above. I just tried on a pair of my old jeans that has a lower crotch seam, and to my amazement, the holster, positioned this low and to the left, disappears again, even in almost literally skin tight jeans! The only thing that prints at all in this case is the edge of the spare magazine, unless I am sitting down - in which case the edge of the holster is visible on my left thigh, but appears to be a soft pocket glasses carrying case through the jeans. I could not wear jeans this tight with my gun if I were to go out, though, because there's literally nowhere for my wallet to go with the holster filling in the left pocket where the wallet usually resides. If the wallet goes in one of the back pockets, the increased tightness causes the gun to print. So it's time for new pants. I'd say it would be anyway, but now I have an excuse to go clothes shopping that will make it much less boring.

I have found that it is fairly easy, with the holster positioned this way, to pee standing up without dropping trousers, either, or even unbuttoning the pants/shorts, and gives no hint that you're wearing a concealed weapon, meaning no need for a stall or urinal dividers, for those cases where there are none.

In summary, I don't have a lot of time actually using the holster in public yet, but now that I have figured out how best to wear it, I am pleased and wanted to report my experiences. The only problem I can see with your holster is that I am honestly afraid I will forget I am wearing a weapon and get myself in trouble entering a place where concealed guns are not allowed by accident. It's that comfortable.

Congrats on a good job and creating a genuinely good, useful, reasonably priced product. I look forward to purchasing a large one when I get myself a G21.

Sincerely, and with an interest in remaining anonymous, if you decide to use this as a testimonial -

Hello Charlie

As a fellow inventor I say bravo to your simple Idea. I had ordered another concealment holster from a company and I won't say who but it wasn't what they said it was, and when I put it on it hung the gun in such a weird way that it was unconformable and just plain not what I was looking for in a holster.

When I saw yours I thought, what the hell, then I watched a video on wearing it and I thought well, it looks better than the other and you know what, Charlie I can wear this as a holster for all times and you don't even have to wear in deep in the pants. you can wear it around the waist line too, ether way it is very versatile.

I would also show that as a way to wear your smart carry.

Right now the first thing I did this morning was got up got dressed and put on your smart carry ! My wife also likes the Idea says that it nice that I have a holster that I'm not fidgeting with.

Thank You,

Holsters

I bought two new sub-compacts and had to go looking for new holsters.

In the past I have bought expensive holsters and not liked them.

So I decided to start cheap and work up instead of starting expensive.

I have a new KAHR PM9 and a new GLOCK 26.

I bought the Desantis Nemisis for the KAHR and it was just OK – it would come out with the pistol unless I hooked it on the corner of my pocket. Just not sticky enough to stay put. I was unable to thumb it off in the pocket. Plus when I walked it flopped with every stride, even worse in a cargo pocket.

Next, I decided to try the Smart Carry. I liked it a lot. It fit BOTH pistols, so no need for two holsters and more money, didn’t need a high priced belt (even though I own one), I didn't have the IWB feeling of like I have a gun stuck to my side. It felt can I say, centrally located! Zippo printing and very fast to deploy.

It's quality made in the USA by an ex marine named Charlie.

http://www.smartcarry.com/products.html

He has two models, standard and a bigger model to carry more stuff.

I was going to next get the Silent Thunder for each pistol, now, I'm going to wait. If any problems come up I will let you know. I had one and Charlie is easy to get to. The male Velcro was attaching to my shirt. No problem, he sent me female velco to cover it.

Charlie:

I purchased a SmartCarry holster from you about a week ago. I am the former Marine from Clearwater that needed a holster quickly and you were able to get mine to me in one day. I do appreciate that. I was in a shirt and tie and was going to be in downtown Tampa late at night with my wife. I certainly felt better with my 9mm on me in that environment.

Feedback:

I have worn the holster every day, most of the time with shorts or long jeans with a shirt not tucked in. I told my son that I had my gun on me and he raised my shirt, looked at my pockets, behind my back but was unable to detect it. When I pulled it out, he was surprised that it was there. He thought I was messing with him (as I often do).

The holster is very comfortable and I have no problem with getting it on and adjusted. When I picked up my holster, I told you that I had a laser on my Kel-Tec PF9. You were concerned that the gun might not fit. I have provided pictures of the gun in the holster, and I think you would agree that it is a perfect fit. The gun is not jammed in the holster. I just slid it in. The laser is an ArmaLaser SB4 Kel-Tec PF-9 ( http://www.armalaser.com/SB4_-_KEL-TEC_PF-9-KEL-TEC_PF-9.html). I like this setup because the laser turns own using a touch sensor instead of a button. There is no part of the laser that gets in the way of my trigger finger and there is not interference with the grip area.

Here is an excellent article: Deep Concealment Face Off: SmartCarry vs. Thunderwear

Again, thanks for accommodating my shirt and tie situation. Also, if you are into suggestions, I have one that you might be interested in. You have probably already heard it 100 times before, but, maybe not. I know that it would be something that I would be interested in.

Dear Charlie:

My third order (2 re-orders) was placed Fri and arrived Mon.! You were correct that now that I have added a Crimson Trace Laser to my Glock 27, I needed a larger holster for smooth draw and comfort...Smart Carry is clearly the most comfortable, and "realistic" holster...for all seasons and situations! ;)

FYI - This was posted on a Self Defense Forum in response to a new ccw looking for the best way to carry.

Smart Carry

I have to tip my hat to the Smart Carry. I have two, a medium and a large one. The medium is 3 years old and the large is 2 years old. They protect from sweat and rust, keeps the muzzle below your bits and its undetectable. I can play with my kid, take off my shirt, hug anyone, anytime, anywhere, anyway I ( or they) choose. Zero chance of exposing yourself. I carry a 1911 in the large one with a spare mag and at one time carried a big, double stack Taurus .45. In the medium I carry a Kel-Tec p-11 and spare mag, a Taurus J-frame copy in .357 and speed strip. Sometimes I carry the .357 snubby and a little .22 Mag as a backup (bout all its good for). So i can leave the house all day, doesn't matter what I do, or where I'm going to do it. I've tried other methods, Pocket carry, IWB, OWB, Crossbreed, Desantis, Galco, Uncle Mike's (blugh), pouches worn on belt, sporran, jackets, etc...I always end up back with the Smart Carry every time. It has a money back guarantee.

To be fair, I've never tried a belly band but I can't even stand thick shirts in the Texas heat, I need to be cool and comfortable. I just don't see me being able to stand it. I cant even wear a watch!

First, I ordered it Tuesday morning and received it Wednesday afternoon (it helps that I live in Central Florida but that is definitely fast service!!). The holster is super comfortable, I ordered it to carry my Keltec P3AT. The thing was the most impressed with is unlike all other IWB carry from 9 to 3 is I could bend down and not get stabbed in the thigh by the holster! I will definitely be wearing my Smartcarry!!!!! I look forward to ordering several more for my other carry guns.

Charlie,

I received my standard holster (order #21278) Sat noon and haven't had it of since (today is Sunday) other than for a much needed shower Sat night from six plus hours working in my wife's flowers with a temp of 96 and matching humidity . 8 hrs in bed and the holster was back on again this morning before the news paper. Two trips to the store , one hour at the gym , two meals out at local restaurants this weekend , all in light weight shorts and polo/tee shirts . Wife hasn't made the holster or weapon (even with me standing for inspection before both meals out) and I'm very confident no one else has either.

Thanks for a great product! One request , please send me a hand full of your business cards. I WILL PASS THEM OUT (for your new customers)!!!!

Subject: 10 years of Smart Carry

Just wanted to write to say that I've used the same Smart Carry holster for the last 10 years carrying my 3" Kimber .45ACP M1911. While the SC is a much lighter blue than when new, is starting to wear through at the very bottom where the front of the slide rubs, and the elastic has definitely stretched, the holster is still serviceable. I finally replaced it this weekend, the order showing up today for use with my new 4" Kimber.

I primarily carry IWB so don't use the SC every day, usually 1 or 2 days a week, but sometimes more often. I love this holster. I've never been made with it, even in close, huggy quarters like family gatherings. I've worn it with everything from thin dress pants to gym shorts with no problems.

Thanks also for your first-rate customer service. When I bought the SC almost 11 years ago, Charlie spent some time on the phone ensuring that I understood how it worked and that I purchased the correct sizes for my 3" and 5" M1911. I called a couple of years ago and encountered the same friendly and helpful service. The product and service keep me coming back, this time through your website.

With 10 years of good use, my old SC provides ample testament to your folks diligence and care in sewing these, as well as the durable materials and robust design. I am a customer for life!

Just wanted to take the time to say thank you for a beautifully made product. I am a small thin man who dresses in normal fit flat-front khakis and a dress shirt every day. Most so-called concealment systems are really nothing more than wishful thinking and wouldn't survive even casual scrutiny from someone who knew what they were looking for. With your system, I am able to carry anything from my Ruger LCP to my Glock 27 with total confidence and absolute discretion. There is simply no 'tell' of any kind.

I would like to suggest that you include a more comprehensive instruction sheet. I think the one that came with it was inadequate and my initial attempts were pretty uncomfortable. It was only after I received advice from other users on a forum that I had all the information I needed to use it properly. As popular as your holsters are, they would be even more popular if they came with a better explanation. Even if you invested in a glossy full color insert to go with every holster, I am totally confident you would make the money back in increased sales.

Again, thanks for this excellent product.

Charlie,

Just a quick note to say that I received my holster today! After reading the instructions thoroughly I wore it while going on an errand with my wife to pick up a gift for an upcoming baby shower event. She never even asked if I had my gun with me! I like the fact that my pistol is deeply concealed and yet easy to get to!

I look forward to wearing it around town on more outings!

Sincerely,

Charlie,

I hope everything's going well.

Sorry for taking so long. My deepest thanks for your exemplary customer service in getting the holster to me so quickly. I've worn it almost everyday since using it for the task we spoke of. During that assignment I even had to jump up three times while wearing the tuxedo. I almost forgot I was wearing my HK USP 45! The pistol felt so comfortable inside of the Smart Carry.

Before the event I had to have the tux pants altered. This was the same day after the holster arrived. In the changing room I switched the pistol from my IWB holster to the Smart Carry. I went to the seamstress and she kneeled down in front of the pants, gathered some of the material, pinned and marked them. During this time she did not say anything.

I went back to the changing room, got dressed, switched holsters and came out. When I spoke to the lady I asked her if she saw my pistol I had on under the tux pants as she did the alterations. With a surprised look, she asked, "You had a gun? I didn't see anything." She asked what I did (for a living) and I told her I was law enforcement. Again she remarked that she never knew I was carrying a gun in the pants.

Your holster is so comfortable and conceals my pistol extremely effectively. I've been telling my partners and friends about you and your outstanding piece of kit.

I very much thank God for blessing you with the idea for the Smart Carry, and thank you for your hard work in taking your idea and making it into an efficient, comfortable and secure way for us to be armed while doing this in a very concealed fashion. If I'm not in my load out gear or using my IWB, my USP has found a new home inside of your Smart Carry holster.

Please find attached my credentials.

Again, my sincerest thanks to you Charlie. Semper Fi.

Best Regards,

Dear Charlie and Carolyn Parrott,

I have received your deep concealment holster. I got the small one with the denim look.

It is perfect. I have an LC9 from Ruger. The fit is perfect. It is comfortable. I do put the thumb safety on just as an added measure of safety because of the location of the holster.

I used to carry a Springfield .45 that I had tuned up and I loved it, and still do, but the weight got to me. I went to the little LCP .380 and did not trust the feed reliability or the cartridge. This little 9mm isn't a .45, but it is darn good.

Thanks for the perfect holster.

Sincerely,

I ordered my SmartCarry rather tentatively my main concern being I was going to be the girl walking down the street looking like I had a hard on. I have another holster I liked ok it worked fine as long as I wore loose fitting shirts and then remembered not to bend over. My smartcarry got here like 2 days after I ordered it. I got home from work put it on and basically haven't taken it off other than to sleep since. I am absolutely in love with this thing. There is essentially no printing. I have hugged friends, wrestled with my dogs, gone to work, shopping, etc. no one that I've been spending time with has even had the slightest idea I've been carrying. It works great with everything I've worn. When I do wear my tighter fitting jeans it still works great. Only someone actively looking at your groin will see there's a tiny bit of displacement. I put my multi-tool or cellphone in my pocket and it completely eliminates that. There is a decent amount of extra strap on mine when I put it on that it would be nice to have a way to secure so it doesn't ride up on its own. Other than that I really have no complaints. Very happy about the delivery too my other CC holster that I have came in a package with logos and big letters announcing to my entire building I just got a really neat holster. My SmartCarry on the other hand was very discrete. Super happy all across the board.

Hi Charlie,

I wore my SmartCarry all week during vacation to get used to carrying a gun all day. I can't carry at my work at all. Anyway, it took a few tries to get used to getting dressed a different way. The velcro closure was tricky to secure each time, so I joined the velcro at the right point and put the holster on like a pair of pants. I found that the velcro would stick to my clothes and snag, so I went out and bought more hook and loop tape to adhere to the exposed side, and now it doesn't catch on my clothing. Here it is 115 in Phoenix. Yes, it does get hot and sweaty in the crotch area, but the gun still was comfortable. I have a Ruger LCP, which is a small gun, and it is invisible in the SmartCarry. I bought it white so I can wear it with my white pants. No one ever saw it. My husband said it wasn't noticeable either. My husband carries a Ruger 9mm with a traditional holster. He had to wear a long shirt to cover his waist and had to make sure he didn't bend over too far. I could wear what I wanted without fear. I loaded the car, camped in a tent, hiked, and rode a bicycle with my gun. No problems. Going to the bathroom took a lot longer, getting redressed afterwards, but no real issues. I did have to wash my holster when we got home because of the gun dust from being at the range. I just hand washed it with Woolite and it was clean again. So, happy with my product. I tell people about your product all the time.

Thanks
